8TH GRADE PROJECTS
political social silk screen posters
Coming back from summer, we start the year by designing a silkscreen poster that serves as an important message about the world we live in. With all the changes in our political, social and environmental climate, it is even more important that our students have an outlet to reflect on our current issues. This project involves deep group work, learning the technical process of stencil making and printing, and most importantly - idea development. We start with a brainstorming session listing issues students raise. In small groups, students work together to create a solid message and graphic that poses questions or advocates for change.
