The program

The Visual Art + Design program at St. Paul’s stems from a foundation of art and design principles, culture, and history, building towards creative explorations in personal identity and community driven projects.  Unique to our program, the student experience celebrates and reflects our downtown Oakland location, diverse families, and social and academic mission.

the key concepts

We give students the opportunity and responsibility to have their own artistic vision.
We love the process. We experiment. We make mistakes. We grow.
We explore how art and design reflects and can be applied to our community and greater world.
We collaborate in diverse groupings, creatively exploring complex ideas and speaking with images.
We ask; we propose; we do.
